- Consider a family password manager where each of your household members has their own private account but you can easily share sensitive information with each other.

Make sure your accounts to these portals use unique, complex passwords, and wherever possible, always use Two Factor Authentication (preferably to a mobile authenticator or password manager instead of text or email). Make sure any centralized home management apps like Google Home or Apple HomeKit follow these guidelines. Always change default admin passwords to devices (some brands now use unique passwords usually written on a label on the device to mitigate the commonly known “default password” problem).
